The Cleveland Mountaineering Club has a reciprocal arrangement with the Chamois Mountaineering Club. This was drawn up in 1983 and allows the two Clubs to use each other’s Huts.

The Chamois Mountaineering Centre is based in Ceunant, near Llanberis, North Wales and the agreement allows up to 4 Cleveland M.C.members (including guests) to use the members’ end of the Hut at any one time. (Dormitory 9). Any more than this and permission must be obtained from the Chamois Club. A few keys are held by the Cleveland M.C. for the use of its members.

Signing in on arrival is essential and payment after your stay should be made by cheque and posted to the Chamois Hut Bookings Secretary (only one cheque per group if possible please). Contact details can be obtained from the Chamois Mountaineering Club’s website. ( http://chamois.org.uk/cmc/ )

In order to avoid several groups inadvertently arriving at the Chamois Hut together, members should check availability with Mike Conlon prior to their visit. This will also ensure Cleveland M.C. members do not coincide with the Chamois Hut maintenance meets and allows any further up to date information to be imparted.

Please note that empty rooms should not be used if they have been booked by other parties as they may have been booked and paid for by another club. This information is sometimes displayed on the entrance notice board.

Please note the Key gives access to the members end via the door facing the car park. The main door can only be operated via a code that is regularly changed and is given out with the key.
